Lyrics
Me ’n Bronco was ramblin’ around in JeBus, headin’ west across Texas just gettin’ to the border of New Mexico. I pulled off for gas around El Paso and picked up a couple hitchers, who after second thoughts about headin’ east due to troubles hitchin’, took the convenient ride from me back west to Tucson as I was ambling said ways anyhow…
Well, come to find out, they had just about everythin’ on their person that you don’t want in your vehicle goin’ through a border checkpoint and there’s plenty en route to Tucson from El Paso even miles out from the border…
But, lucky for us, there was currently a government shutdown and we didn’t know such at the time, but when that happens many of the inland border checkpoints shut down too, so, after alot of sweatin’ on my part and laughin’ on their part, we were all able to laugh about it together after we rolled through the border checkpoints unmolestado.
So this here’s a sort of cautionary tale (or public service announcement of sorts) that I spun with the help of a few things those two hitchers had to say for themselves… Smiley and I think the younger feller called himself Fat Boy. This one’s for you, fellas.
